Ceiling Void Height

The Ceiling Void Height option allows users to define the height of the ceiling void required for the path planning and navigation process. This setting ensures that Plumbing Copilot considers the appropriate vertical clearance within the defined search range.

This height is measured starting from the lowest floor element above the selected start or end element.

1. Setup

1

Select Unit Type

Choose the desired unit (e.g., millimeters or inches) from the dropdown menu next to the text box.

2

Set Value

Enter the desired value in the text box.

3

Automatic Conversion

The entered value will be automatically converted to match the selected unit.

2. How It Works

  • Defining the Height:

    • The ceiling void height should be set to encompass the lowest compound ceiling available within the defined search range.

    • Alternatively, it can be used to restrict the minimum elevation that Plumbing Copilot can use during the path planning and navigation process.

    • If the start or end element is located within a ceiling void, the Ceiling Void Height must be at least the minimum height that fully contains the element to ensure it is within the valid routing element.

If the element is a vertical pipe, the Ceiling Void Height does not need to fully contain the entire pipe. Only the portion of the pipe contained within the ceiling void is considered.

3. Effect on Routing:

Plumbing Copilot will avoid generating paths that fall below the specified ceiling void height, ensuring adherence to design constraints and avoiding interference with building elements.
