Tolerance

The Tolerance option in Plumbing Copilot allows users to adjust the dimensions of the extracted path plumbing chases by a specified tolerance value.

1. Setup

1

Select Unit Type

Choose the desired unit (e.g., millimeters or inches) from the dropdown menu next to the text box.

2

Set Drop Value

Enter the desired value in the text box.

3

Automatic Conversion

The entered Drop value will be automatically converted to match the selected unit.

2. How It Works

  • Tolerance Adjustment: When the tolerance value is specified, the dimensions of the plumbing chase in the planned path will be increased by the given tolerance. For example, adding a tolerance of 1 inch will increase the width, thickness, and height of the plumbing chase by 1 inch.

  • Impact on Routing: The increased plumbing chase dimensions affect the available space for the generated route. This may help avoid clashes with other elements or create more room for the routing process, especially in tight areas or areas where additional clearance is necessary.

Increasing the tolerance will result in a path that may appear outside the actual plumbing chase when visualized. This is because the virtual plumbing chase boundaries are expanded, allowing the routing path to be planned with extra clearance, even if that means the path extends beyond the plumbing chase’s real-world boundaries.
