Pipe Type

The Pipe Type option allows users to specify the pipe type for the generated route. This can be controlled using the Use Assigned Type checkbox.

  • If the checkbox is checked, the selected pipe type value will be applied to the generated route.

  • If the checkbox is unchecked, Plumbing Copilot determines the pipe type based on the start and end elements following predefined rules.

1. Use Assigned Type: Checked

When the Use Assigned Type checkbox is checked, the pipe type selected in the control panel will be directly applied to the generated route, regardless of the start or end elements.

2. Use Assigned Type: Unchecked

When the Use Assigned Type checkbox is unchecked, Plumbing Copilot applies the following rules to determine the pipe type:

Start Element: Pipe

If the start element is a pipe, its pipe type will be used for the generated route, regardless of the type of the end element.

Start Element: Fitting/Fixture/Equipment
  • End Element: Pipe

    • The pipe type of the end element will be used for the route.

  • End Element: Fitting/Fixture/Equipment

    • The pipe type assigned in the control panel will be used, irrespective of the Use Assigned Type checkbox state
