1. Slope

  • Functionality:

    • When the slope value is set to 0, the Sloped Pipes Controls section is disabled.

    • If the slope value is greater than 0, the Sloped Pipes Controls section is enabled, and the configured options in this section will apply to all future generated routes.

2. Free Navigation

  • Functionality:

    • When the Free Navigation checkbox is checked, the following sections are either disabled or ineffective:

      • Route in Ceiling Void

      • Route in Wall/Plumbing Chase

      • Regions

    • In this mode, the software ignores any values configured in these sections for route generation.

    • To enable these sections again, uncheck the Free Navigation checkbox.

3. Connect End to End

  • Functionality:

    • When the Connect End to End checkbox is checked, the Connection section is disabled.

    • To enable the Connection section and configure end-to-pipe connections, uncheck the Connect End to End checkbox.

4. Use Assigned Type

  • Functionality:

    • When the Use Assigned Type checkbox is checked, the Assigned Type section is enabled.

      • The configured options in the Assigned Type section will be used during the route generation process.

    • When the Use Assigned Type checkbox is unchecked, the Assigned Type section is disabled.

      • Exception: If both terminal elements are not pipes, the Assigned Type options will still be used despite the checkbox being unchecked.

How It Works

  1. Dynamic Selection

    • Clicking the Three Dots Button activates a prompt in Revit, enabling the user to select an element directly from the project.

  2. Extracting Settings

    • Example 1: P-Trap

      • When used for the P-Trap setting, clicking the button prompts the user to select a P-trap instance.

      • The P-trap family of the selected instance will then be automatically set in the P-Trap dropdown list.

    • Example 2: Pipe Type

      • When used for the Pipe Type setting, clicking the button prompts the user to select a pipe from the project.

      • The Pipe Type of the selected pipe will be extracted, and the Pipe Type dropdown list will update to reflect the selected pipe's type.

5. The Three Dots Button

The Three Dots Button provides a convenient way to dynamically select settings directly from Revit. Upon clicking this button, users are prompted to select an element from their Revit project, allowing Plumbing Copilot to extract the relevant settings for the associated option.
