Convert Elbow

The Convert Elbow section allows users to configure Plumbing Copilot to use only 45-degree elbows in the generated route. To activate this feature, ensure the Convert to 45-Elbow checkbox is checked.

Refer to the Supported Pipe Fittings section to ensure the compatibility of the Elbow family.

1. Key requirements

1. Compatible Elbow Family

   • The selected Elbow family must be resizable to adapt to the dimensions required by the generated route.

   • The Elbow family must have an Angle parameter that allows values greater than 0 and less than or equal to 90 degrees.

2. Compatibility with Sloped Pipes

   • The Convert Elbow section only functions with sloped pipe routes and will not be included in non-sloped configurations.

2. Convert to 45-elbow

• Enables the 45-degree elbow conversion feature for horizontal pipes.

• This option must be checked to activate any additional settings within this section.

3. Convert vertical elbow

• Configures Plumbing Copilot to use exclusively 45-degree elbows for vertical turns, avoiding the use of 90-degree elbows.

• Requirements:

  • The Convert to 45-Elbow checkbox must be checked.

  • The Convert Vertical Elbow checkbox must also be checked.

4. Exclude first vertical elbow

• Instructs Plumbing Copilot to exclude the first vertical elbow from the 45-degree restriction imposed by the Convert Vertical Elbow setting.

• Requirements:

  • The Convert to 45-Elbow checkbox must be checked.

  • The Convert Vertical Elbow checkbox must be checked.

  • The Exclude First Vertical Elbow checkbox must be checked.
